Our Library Manager, Maggie Bather officially "retired" from her post in May this year. Maggie has been Library Manager since the launch of Stalbridge Community Library in February 2013, a role she has carried out with absolute commitment and has provided ongoing support throughout that time, always at the end of a telephone and attending the Library if and when required, all carried out on an entirely voluntary basis without any remuneration. Fortunately, Stalbridge Library is not losing Maggie's expertise and support, she is to continue as a volunteer Librarian and has now undertaken to "shake-up" the Honesty Library. The Management Group and, we are sure, all our group of volunteers would like to express our sincere thanks and admiration for the way in which she has managed the Library since 2013. Maggie's duties have now been taken over by the Chair of our Management group, Margaret Jackson and we wish her every success in her additional role. Margaret can be contacted by e-mail on stalbridgecommunitylibrary@gmail.com Summer in Dorset Are you thinking of ways for children and young people to have a happy and healthy Summer break? This year we hope at least 6000 children will be joining in the challenge, inspiring them to keep reading over the summer break. If you're school hasn't booked an assembly yet, then book here. If you are aged 14-25 you can apply to be a volunteer for the Summer Reading Challenge. It's a great opportunity to develop your personal skills and you will be encouraging children to join Gadgeteers and to keep reading over the summer break.
