Douglas Noel Adams was an English author, humourist and screenwriter, best known for The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Originally a 1978 BBC radio comedy, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy developed into a "trilogy" of five books that sold more than 15 million copies. Douglas was born on 11th March 1952 and died on the 11th May 2001. He was a former resident of Stalbridge.
