During this special event, Jasper will share his insights on the craft of writing and will be answering questions from the audience. Booking is essential and tickets are available on Eventbrite Dorset Home Library Service This free service is provided to customers who, for a variety of reasons, cannot use the conventional library service. Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) volunteers choose and deliver books to people in their own homes or in sheltered housing every 3 or 4 weeks. Books are chosen based on individual preferences and can be provided in different formats. Recipients of the service enjoy a regular delivery of books and chats with their volunteer during visits. One reader says “It’s very difficult for me to get to the library as I don’t have a car; there is no bus service, and no immediate family in the area. I love reading and am an avid reader so I really appreciate the service I receive. I also enjoy the conversations with my volunteer as she knows all my interests.” We are always looking for more volunteers to provide this service to our customers. Volunteer with the RVS and you could make a real difference to a person's wellbeing. If you would like to find out more about receiving the service or volunteering, please phone the Royal Voluntary Service office on 01305 236666 or e-mail [email protected].
