In this interactive session, Sharon will give a reading of Oh, Sir Bragalot!, as well as a draw along session with the pupils, getting them involved in the story and characters! There will be time to ask Sharon questions about being an author and illustrator.
The event is aimed at children aged 4-6 years, and takes place on Tuesday 30 November at 10:30 am.

Bedtime stories for grown-ups
Dorset Libraries are keen to be involved with new and exciting projects, and we are very happy to have been selected to be part of Inn Crowd pilot travelling tour. The tour will be bringing professional, high-quality live entertainment to the market town of Gillingham on Thursday 2 December, with Suki Silvertongue.

Coming soon - family festive fun
We know it's early to mention it, but lots of our libraries are already planning for FREE family activities in the festive season. Find out what is taking place at a library near you. Make sure you take a look at the list regularly, as there's more activities being added all the time. As numbers are limited at our events (and we always have long waiting lists), we would respectfully ask that if you can no longer attend an event, cancel your ticket or email us in advance so that another family can have the opportunity to come along instead.
Remember it's free to join the library and borrow our resources, so make sure all the family have a ticket of their own.
Great news for families - there will be a whole host of events for Winter in Dorset. It is a council initiative for affordable activities to families in Dorset over the Christmas holidays. All activities, events and holiday clubs taking part in Winter in Dorset are free for children who receive benefit-related free school meals, thanks to funding from the Department for Education Holiday Activity and Food Programme. There will also be opportunities/activities available and may attract a small charge.
Activities will be listed from 1st December.
Keep up to date with Winter in Dorset on Facebook.

Bookstart gives free books to every child in England and Wales at two key stages before school, as well as free packs for children with additional needs.
The lovely baby pack is now in a vibrant yellow bag - perfect for taking your books home from the library. Every baby should receive one of these through their health visitor before they are 6 months old, if you haven't received the pack and your baby is over 6 months, then you can collect it from a Dorset Library instead. Inside there are free books to share and keep, top tips for sharing books, and how to join the library.
Two of our libraries (Littlemoor and Weymouth) have been chosen to be part of the Booktrust Storytime pilot, reaching new families to come along to the library. Our pilot involvement has enabled all of our libraries to have a set of the 6 Storytime books, gifted to us by Booktrust. Look out for displays and take time to share these books in the library.
