Space Chase has blasted off!
The Summer Reading Challenge is in full swing in all our libraries. This national reading challenge helps children keep reading over the summer and discover the joy of reading for pleasure.
So far 4180 budding astronauts have joined the Challenge and some have already completed.
There's still plenty of time to take part. It's free to sign up, just pop to your local library with your library card. Once you've read your 6 books, you'll get a medal.
The Summer Reading Challenge website has games, activities and competitions with some great prizes to be won. There are loads of activities taking place in libraries throughout the summer.
We support volunteering opportunities for young people. If you're aged 14 - 25, you could be just the person we're looking for. You'll help children join the Challenge, talk to them about their reading, give out rewards and medals and help with library events and activities.
