This is to let you know about changes to the Cloud Library Service (e-books)
Due to very heavy demand and pressure on the collection the loan period for e-books is being temporarily reduced to 14 days as from 09.00 on Friday 26th June.
Although some users may not welcome this change we hope this will be balanced by reduced waiting times and greater turnover of stock for other users. We will be keeping this under review and will revert back to 21 days if and when we can
For security reasons we will be reverting to direct authentication with the LMS and the requirement for a PIN to log on to Cloud Library from July 15th. Libraries West colleagues will send a direct message to all Cloud Library users informing them of this change. For our users it will just be a case of needing their library PIN if they log on to Cloud Library from 15th July. If they don’t know their PIN or have forgotten it they can get a reminder by going to www.librarieswest.org.uk, clicking on ‘Log in’ and then ‘Forgot my PIN’. As long as they have a current email address on their Symphony record it will generate an automated email. If they don’t receive one (after checking junk/spam folder) please advise them to email email@example.com. Some users will be currently logging on to Cloud Library using an expired membership as at present it doesn’t authenticate with the LMS so just allows them to log on if they have a membership number that matches any of our barcode formats. From July 15th they will receive an error message if they attempt to log on with an expired or incorrect membership so will need to create a new membership online at www.librarieswest.org.uk/join.
